Parameters: Full-time; 12 months/year            Pay Range: $45,000 


Position Summary: The Marketing Project Coordinator plays a key role in planning, executing, and optimizing marketing and engagement efforts across multiple platforms. This position supports campaign management, content development, and community outreach initiatives that enhance student engagement, lead generation, and brand consistency for the university. 

Reporting to the Director of Marketing, the coordinator manages timelines, deliverables, and cross-functional alignment across teams including marketing, creative, communications, and student engagement. The role also supports content creation, video production, social media publishing, and campaign analysis.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

Project & Campaign Project Coordinator 

  • Manage timelines and deliverables for marketing, social media, email, engagement, and communications initiatives
  • Track all active campaigns using platforms such as Asana, Salesforce, and Constant Contact
  • Serve as a liaison between marketing, creative, communications, and engagement teams to ensure consistent alignment
  • Maintain a comprehensive marketing calendar and provide regular updates for departmental meetings

Content, Social Media & Community Support
 
  • Assist in developing, scheduling, and publishing content across web, email, social media, and print channels
  • Support video and photo production projects, including planning, coordination, and oversight of editing processes
  • Help monitor engagement, analyze performance, and recommend optimizations for 9+ social media platforms
  • Collaborate with creative teams to ensure brand consistency in tone, voice, and design across all platforms

Market Research & Analytics
 
  • Conduct market and competitor research, surveys, focus groups to support program development and marketing strategy
  • Monitor brand activities across the web to suggest improvements as needed
  • Prepare recommendations to inform messaging, platform selection, and campaign targeting
  • Monitor and analyze campaign performance using tools such as WordPress, Google Analytics, Constant Contact, Facebook Ads, and Looker Studio
  • Create dashboards and summary reports

Community Marketing & Engagement
 
  • Support initiatives to boost domestic student engagement and lead generation
  • Coordinate targeted campaigns, particularly for the DMV area and broader U.S. regions, ensuring brand consistency
  • Support cross-functional projects such as agencies, study abroad promotions, grant application efforts, career services
  • Assist in outreach to prospective students through community partnerships and content-driven strategies

Education and Experience Requirements:

•     Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field.

•     3–5 years of experience in a marketing, project coordination, or communications role.

•     Familiarity with tools such as Google Analytics, Mailchimp, Hootsuite, Canva, and Microsoft Excel.

•     Ability to manage multiple priorities

•     Knowledge of digital platforms, ad tracking, marketing analytics

•     Highly creative with experience in identifying target audiences and devising marketing campaigns that engage, inform, and motivate

•     Proven organizational and time management skills to prioritize assignments, manage multiple projects simultaneously, under deadline pressures and with fluctuating priorities. Work both independently and cooperatively to accomplish duties with minimal supervision.

•     Creativity, resourcefulness, and the use of original ideas.

•     Excellent verbal and written communication skills, includes editing and proofreading to produce quality marketing materials. Strong writing skills with the ability to compose creative, concise directed copy, which is both informative and accurate.

•     Proven ability to make presentations to small and large groups.

•     Ability to work and effectively communicate with diverse campus and community populations including students, alumni, campus departments, colleagues, faculty, administration, and employers to plan and execute all aspects of outreach efforts, and program publicity and promotional activities.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of and ability to follow college policies and procedures.

Knowledge of current technologies and word processing, database, presentation, and spreadsheet software, specifically Microsoft Office applications.

Knowledge of tools used for student interest and personality type and the ability to interpret results of such tools to assist students in making sound decisions.

Knowledge of the proper operation of and the ability to use personal computers and standard office equipment.

Skill in evaluating a student’s academic interests and desires to formulate a plan designed to assist the student in achievement of specified career goals.

Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, and to relate to others in a professional, helpful manner.

Ability to relate to a diverse population and to maintain composure when faced with difficult situations Ability to multi-task and organize, prioritize, and follow multiple projects and tasks through to completion with an attention to detail.

Ability to work independently while contributing to team environment.

Ability to analyze problems, identify solutions and take appropriate action, resolve problems using independent judgment and decision-making processes.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, other department staff, students, and the public.

Ability to read and interpret policies related to academic programs and student requirements for participation in various programs.



Work Environment: Work is primarily performed under general supervision in an office setting with appropriate climate control. Travel, early morning, evening, and weekend work may be required.



Physical Requirements: Essential functions of this position require: lifting, manual dexterity, ability to communicate.



Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body; involves sitting majority of time; walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met



Mental Application: Utilizes memory for details, verbal instructions, emotional stability, critical thinking, adaptability, and creative problem-solving skills are important.
