The Facilities Coordinator:
Pay Grade: $29.49-47.19 hourly

  • Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of facilities projects, including renovations, repairs, and equipment installations.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation, including schedules, budgets, and status reports.
  • Collaborate with contractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and timelines.
  • Monitor project progress and address any issues or delays, escalating concerns to the Facilities Director when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records of project expenses and support budget tracking.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for leadership on project outcomes and metrics.
  • Ensure adherence to hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assumes other duties and responsibilities that are related and appropriate to the position and area.  The above responsibilities are a general description of the level and nature of the work assigned to this classification and are not to be considered as all-inclusive.
  • Promotes adherence to the Health Sciences Compliance Program, the Howard University Code of Ethics and the Health Sciences Standards of Conduct.
  • Attends annual and periodic mandatory Compliance Program training including the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Privacy training.
  • Participates in activities that promote adherence to federal healthcare program requirements.
  • Actively participates in Health Sciences Compliance Program activities
  • Adheres to the requirements of the HIPAA Privacy Policies and Procedures.
  • Maintains confidentiality of patients, families, and staff.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, Excel).
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in project management, business, construction management, or a related field preferred
  • 2+ years of project coordination or administrative support experience, preferably in a healthcare or facilities environment.
