Works under the general supervision and direction of the Parkways Supervisor.Β
Β
Manages projects and assists in the supervision of outside contractors. May supervise seasonal employees as assigned.Β

Examples of field equipment to be used: tractors, skid steer loaders, pickup trucks, hand and power tools,Β snow removal equipment, pressure washer, spray units, truck-trailer combination. Examples of office equipment to be used: computers, software, phones, Microsoft products, printers/copiers.Β

While performing the duties of this job, the employee works in indoor and outdoor settings. Long periods of sitting, standing, working near moving parts, in all weather conditions may be experienced. The employee periodically works in high, precarious places, and is exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and vibration. The employee may occasionally be exposed to the risk of electrical shock.

Generally, the work schedule is between 6:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The work schedule will vary depending on weather conditions, projects, events, programs, meetings, and staffing levels, and will include some evening, early morning, weekend, and overtime hours.
This position is part of the Metro District on-call/weekend schedule for snow removal and may be part of the Irrigation on-call rotation. This position is required to be on-call and work nights and weekends as scheduled by the Parks Snow Crew Leaders. Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job.
